Launching the report, Jack Abbott, MP for Ipswich and the Government’s Mission Champion for the East of England, said:

“The East of England has shown time and time again that, given the right backing, we will deliver.

“The eight projects in the Prospectus show the breadth and depth of ambition, innovation and entrepreneurship across our region. It is also real statement of intent, and the first step in a long-term project of renewal and fresh impetus.

“One of my central ambitions is to drive investment into the East of England, because I am ambitious for my town and for our region. I want us to reach our potential and this landmark Prospectus will help us to do exactly that. The East of England means business and so do I.”

Mr Abbott chaired the production of the East of England Investment Prospectus

Jackie Sadek, Chair of the UK Innovation Corridor added:

“The East of England Investment Prospectus represents far more than a call for investment in projects – it’s a gateway to unlocking the full potential of the region’s most dynamic and future-facing industries.”

“This is a unique opportunity to build on the East of England’s position as a national economic powerhouse and presents a scale of opportunity that extends beyond the built environment. Strategic investment in these eight transformational projects could help accelerate growth in critical sectors like renewable energy, logistics, artificial intelligence, life sciences, and advanced manufacturing – sectors where the region is already making a global impact.”

“By mobilising fresh investment and forging new partnerships, we can supercharge the East of England, helping the region lead the next era of sustainable, high-value growth.”

Sam Carling, MP for North West Cambridgeshire, said:

“I’m proud to see the Cross Point Logistics Park included in the East of England Investment Prospectus. This project will play to our strengths as a region, tying into Government priorities around the Oxford-Cambridge Growth Corridor to bring a range of jobs into the area that will provide large numbers of Peterborough and Cambridgeshire residents – from all walks of life – with new career opportunities. In doing so, it will also support sustainable transport choices through proximity to new housing, and help to deliver stronger local services by strengthening our area’s economic potential long into the future.

Andrew Pakes, MP for Peterborough, said:

“The Cross Point Logistics Park has the potential to be truly transformative for our area- not just by attracting significant investment and boosting local businesses, but by creating well-paid, skilled jobs for local people- especially young people- too.

“This prospectus really does show that the East of England is going places. It shows the ambition and drive that we, as local MPs, have for our area and our region and I hope it will be the first of many such projects.”

Councillor Dennis Jones, Leader of Peterborough City Council, said:

“Having been introduced to Newlands as a result of the excellent work they are already doing in and around Peterborough and Huntingdon, I am confident in their ability to deliver in this excellent location adding to the rich value it will bring to the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority in this area.”
