Sam Carling MP at Prime Minister
Sam Carling MP at Prime Minister's Questions this afternoon (30/04) - UK Parliament©
Today at Prime Minister’s Questions, Sam Carling, Labour MP for North West Cambridgeshire, called on the Prime Minister to update local residents on how the Government’s Plan for Change will tackle antisocial behaviour and strengthen neighbourhood policing.
“Listening to residents in North West Cambridgeshire on the doorstep and at coffee mornings, it’s clear people want to see local police have the time and resources to get to know crime in their area and tackle it at the root.

I know our Labour mayoral candidate, Anna Smith, is already championing that vision locally.

Residents across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough want to know what’s being done nationally to tackle crime and antisocial behaviour, boost policing ranks and improve officer visibility in local communities.”
The Prime Minister reaffirmed the Government’s Plan for Change, including:

  • 13,000 additional neighbourhood officers, PCSOs, and special constables
  • A named, contactable officer in every community
  • More teams out in town centres on Friday and Saturday nights

    Sam Carling MP said:

“We all deserve to feel safe in our communities. After years of cuts under the previous government, residents are tired of seeing fewer officers on the streets and antisocial behaviour going unchecked.

I’m proud to be standing up in Parliament for our community, pushing for more visible, responsive policing that delivers on what matters.”
